Every year, the goDCgo Transportation All-Star program recognizes DC employers, schools, and residential properties for their commitment to sustainable transportation through the implementation of robust commuter benefits programs and amenities. Depending on the level of their achievement, these organizations are recognized as All-Stars in three tiers — Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
This year, Somerset Development Company’s Portner Flats is honored to be designated as a Platinum Transportation All Star. To achieve this designation, Portner Flats demonstrated an exceptional commitment to transportation access and mobility by providing resident transportation education and outreach through:
* goDCgo lobby events and travel training
* Training of onsite staff on available transportation resources
* Partnering with organizations such as DACL and WMATA to connect residents with mobility assistance programs including MetroAccess, MetroLift, and Capital Bikeshare for All
* Installing a real-time transit information display in a common area
* Supporting transportation choice by unbundling parking costs from rent
Portner Flats will be honored for this achievement at the goDCgo annual awards ceremony held annually each spring. The Portner Flats’ Resident Services team at Habitat America (property management company) and Somerset Development are proud and excited to receive this recognition and look forward to continuing to provide our residents with services that meet and exceed their needs.
